Academic Support
Programs and services are available to ensure academic success for every student, including assistance for gaining English language proficiency, services for Native American students, and services to reduce the effects of poverty on student learning.
Accelerated Programs
Accelerated academic programs are available to students in grades kindergarten through 12. These programs are designed to meet the needs of highly capable learners by providing instruction beyond the scope of the general education classroom.
Assessments and Surveys
The Assessment Team works with other departments at LWSD in the oversight and delivery of state assessments, surveys and other assessments. Learn about surveys by grade level, calendar and assessment purposes, as well as special accommodations.
Athletics
LWSD holds high expectations for its student athletes. Students are expected to make a strong personal commitment to rules of training and conduct in order to maintain a strong, healthy body and represent their school in an exemplary fashion.

Elementary Band and Orchestra
LWSD Elementary Band and Orchestra Program provides an opportunity for fourth and fifth graders to learn to play an instrument, read music and perform for an audience. Program locations are based on school of attendance.

The Equity & Family Engagement department is committed to racial, gender and ability equity for all. The department supports activities related to diversity and outreach to close opportunity gaps for students of color, students with disabilities; and traditionally underserved student groups.

Preschool
Lake Washington preschool focuses on providing children and families with a successful first school experience. Families with a four-year-old child living within the LWSD boundaries of are eligible to apply for the preschool program.
Print Center
Lake Washington School District's Print Center provides quality service at a competitive cost to schools and departments in Lake Washington School District, PTSAs and local non-profit organizations.
School Safety
Keeping students safe is a critical responsibility. The district and schools plan and practice safety and emergency preparation. These efforts involve staff, students and parents, as well as local fire and law enforcement departments.

Summer school programs are updated each year in the late spring. Offerings are subject to change, but may include core academics, enrichment camps, accelerated math and invitation-only special education programs.

LWSD has a long-standing commitment to sustainability. Lake Washington is a recognized leader in sustainability practices and education in the region. The district won a 2015 McKinstry Champions of Sustainability award.
